What is a ‘Picker’?
The Definition: Picker – noun – the internal honing device navigating a person to who they are interested in.
I remember a time when I was 6 years old and I liked the ‘bad boy’ from foster care who beat up every kid in our class. I thought it was cute. Since then I have had everyone in my life setting me up with Mr. Right, knowing that my ‘picker’ was inherently broken, so I was obviously unable to find him on my own. I have dated blue collar, white collar, no collar, athletes, celebrities, CEOs, young men, old men and everything else in between. I have had relationships that last a single phone conversation, to ones that have lasted years…and in the end, I am still single and searching for this so-called ‘Mr. Right’.
This blog is not to give ‘relationship advice’, but an outlet for stories that showcase different ‘types’ of men that we continually come across. Maybe you will learn a thing or two about someone you once dated and say ‘OMG, I totally dated that type of guy’ or ‘I really want to stay away from that one…glad I know the signs.’ And, as technology advances and men become more strategic in their ways to ‘get laid’, this is our opportunity to band together and stay a step ahead in the game of dating. But most importantly, I hope this allows you to take a step back and laugh about all the things we go through in our quest to find ‘Mr. Right’.
I love to hear about dating stories of my friends and associates, which also provide a great opportunity for analysis and foundation to articles. Feel free to email me with your story at talktome@brokenpickers.com.
